Local rank tracking, block by block

Know exactly where customers can find you on Google Maps.

You don't rank in one place. You rank differently on every block. LocalMapRanks scans a grid around your business and shows you a map of where you win the call, where you lose it, and who's taking it.

25 free tokens, enough for a full scan. No card needed.

The problem

Your ranking isn't one number.

Search “plumber near me” on one block and you're first. Search it two miles away and you're nowhere. Customers search from where they are, so that's where you have to measure.

What a typical rank checker tells you

#3for “ac repair”, from one location

Looks fine. It says nothing about the other 90% of the area you serve.

The evidence

Position on the map decides who gets the call

Customers search, glance at the top few listings and act. These are published studies, linked so you can read them yourself.

29–32%

of clicks go to the local map pack

On local service searches, the three map pack listings drew roughly a third of all clicks, more than any single organic result below them.

About this number

5,500+ testers chose a result on five San Francisco service-business searches. 28.8% with Local Services Ads shown, 32.3% without.

BrightLocal Local Services Ads Click Study, 2018

6–7×

more clicks for map pack #1 than #3

Position matters inside the pack, too. The first listing took 16–17% of clicks and the third took 2–3%.

About this number

Pack position 1: 16.1% (with LSAs) and 17.3% (without). Position 3: 2.3% and 2.9%.

BrightLocal Local Services Ads Click Study, 2018

50%

of smartphone searchers visited the store within a day

About this number

4,500 survey respondents plus a smartphone search diary from 653 users. Behavior was self-reported or logged, and the study is more than a decade old.

Google, Ipsos and Purchased, 2014

81%

of consumers used Google to evaluate local businesses

About this number

1,026 US adults on a representative panel. The report says Google's share was 87% in 2023, 81% in 2024, and rose again in 2025.

Where it comes from

Built by a local SEO agency, for the people who report on rankings every month.

LocalMapRanks was built by the team at Youtech Agency to track and explain local rankings for their own clients, then checked against what Google really shows at each location. It's the tool we wanted, so it measures things the way we'd defend them to a client.

From the team at Youtech Agency

Checked against the real pack

Positions 1 to 3 come from Google's actual local pack at each spot.

Failed spots refunded

You never pay for a spot we couldn't check.

Secure payments by Stripe

We never see or store your card number.

No contracts

Cancel any time. Tokens you've bought never expire.

Accuracy

We measure it the way Google shows it

A rank tracker is only useful if you can trust it. We built ours around what a real searcher sees.

Real local pack at every spot

Positions 1 to 3 come from Google's actual local pack for that location. The Maps list fills in the rest below. If Google shows no pack at a spot, we say so instead of guessing.

Retries, not guesses

Each spot is asked again before we conclude anything, and a spot we can't check is left blank and refunded, never filled in.

Honest numbers

Not-in-the-top-20 counts as a miss in the average, so a good number actually means good visibility.

Comparable over time

We only compare scans measured the same way, so a change in your trend is a change in your rankings.

Pricing

FAQ

Questions

What exactly is a grid scan?

We pick a grid of points around your business (3×3, 5×5 or 7×7) out to a radius you choose. At each point we ask Google what someone standing there would see when they search your keyword, and record where you rank. The result is a map of your visibility, block by block.

Why not just check my ranking on Google?

Local results change with the searcher's location. You might be #1 across the street and #12 two miles away. A single check only tells you about one spot. A grid shows the whole area.

How accurate is it?

We read the real Google local pack for positions 1 to 3 at each spot, then the Google Maps list below it. If Google shows no pack at a spot, we say so. Each spot is retried before we give up, and spots we can't check are left blank and refunded, not guessed.

What's a token?

One token runs one spot of a scan. A 5×5 scan is 25 tokens and a 7×7 is 49 for each keyword. Spots that can't be checked are refunded automatically. Tokens never expire.

What do I get free?

Every new account gets 25 free tokens, enough for a complete 5×5 scan. No card needed.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from your account page and your plan ends at the end of the billing period. You keep any tokens you already have.

Can I share results with clients?

Yes. Export a client-friendly PDF with the maps, the headline numbers and a plain-English summary, and invite teammates or clients (view-only) to your account.

Why does LocalMapRanks cost more per scan than some other tools?

Some credit-based tools publish very low per-scan prices. We charge more per spot because the price includes reading the real Google local pack at each spot, refunding spots we can't check, comparable trends, client-ready white-label reports, portfolio roll-ups and team access. If you only need raw scans in volume, a cheaper tool may fit better.

Which Google results do you track?

Google Maps and the local pack, the results shown for local searches like "plumber near me". Not the regular organic results.

See where you really rank.
